Hezekiah was in town recently as part of "The Great Beauty Tour," a cross-country bus tour created by Maybelline New York and Garnier Nutrioniste to educate women on skin care and makeup. Inside their traveling studio, Hezekiah and three makeup experts offered visitors one-on-one beauty consultations to help them take the guesswork out of choosing and using skin-care products and cosmetics.
New task force working to reduce kidney disease in Missouri
Some Missourians may not give much thought to their kidneys - until they stop working - but a new task force in Missouri created with legislation signed by Gov. Matt Blunt is hoping to change that.One of the Missouri Chronic Kidney Disease Task Force's primary goals is to educate the public about the importance of healthy kidneys and the danger of chronic kidney disease, a potentially fatal condition that often goes undiagnosed until it reaches an advanced stage.According to the National Kidney Foundation, one in nine Americans has chronic kidney disease, but many may not know it."We all have a personal responsibility to improve our own health by adopting healthy lifestyle habits," Blunt said in a news release. "One of the reasons I have focused my health care initiatives on health and wellness is to emphasize the quality of life benefits that come from making healthy decisions.
