Kids Book Unwraps Plastic Surgery

Divorce. Bullies. Foster care. There are books for children on just about every tough subject these days.

But Mommy's plastic surgery?

A South Florida plastic surgeon has written about just that in "My Beautiful Mommy," a picture book due out April 28 that tries to calm the fears of kids with parents getting tummy tucks, breast enhancement procedures and nose jobs.

Michael Salzhauer said so many moms brought kids to their appointments that he was motivated to stock up on lollipops in his Bal Harbour office. In "My Beautiful Mommy," he explains Mommy's recuperation, changing look and desire for plastic surgery.

"Many parents don't explain to their kids what's going on," said the father of four, with his fifth child on the way. "Children are very perceptive.

Isolagen sells Swiss site to Swatch

Isolagen Inc. said Monday that it sold its site in Switzerland for $6.4 million.

A spokesman for the Exton, Pa., based skin-care products company (AMEX:ILE) said the site is an empty warehouse that was part of the company's discontinued operations. The buyer was Switzerland-based watch manufacturer the Swatch Group, the spokesman said.

Chairman Nicholas L. Teti Jr. said the proceeds "will enable us to further pursue the implementation of our business plan for 2008."

Isolagen sells anti-aging and acne treatment products and is developing treatments for acne scars and wrinkles that would involve tissue rejuvenation.

Sales Soar at Firm Known For Recycled Toilet Paper

The chief inspired protagonist (and president) of Seventh Generation, Jeffrey Hollender, answers his own phone. His employees can bring their dogs to work, have the services of a masseuse at their disposal two days a week, are owners of the company, and can even get a $10,000 loan to add solar panels to their homes. They also choose their own titles.

This Earth Day, companies such as Seventh Generation, a Burlington, Vt.-based company that makes recycled paper products and phosphate-free household cleaners, are in the spotlight. Although it has been in business for 20 years, the company has been growing fast over the past year, with sales up 45% last year and 60% in the first quarter of 2008. The trend toward all things green is a factor in its recent success.

"Our company has gotten more attention in the past 12 months than the entire 20 years preceding it," Mr.

Celeb stylist appearing here Saturday

On "Project Runway," Collier Strong races against the clock to design the hair and makeup to complement every contestant's wild creation. Off the runway, he manages a large celebrity clientele, helping stars like Diane Keaton and Kate Beckinsale always look camera-ready.

For his next challenge, Strong takes on the shoppers at Willowbrook Mall, giving free mini-makeovers and advice on cosmetics, hair care and skincare. In advance of his Saturday appearance, the hair stylist and consulting makeup artist for L'Oréal Paris chatted with The Record about some beauty do's and don'ts.

Q. What is the biggest mistake that women make with their makeup?

There are so many different things, and it's very individual. I think poor application is the biggest mistake.

Bar Facts: Exit

It may not be the smartest joint on the map, but Cardiff's main pre-club warm-up venue is still a great night out.

High-Powered Career Friend - not her real name but so soubriqueted because she has a high-falutin' job; duh! - rings to inform me she's coming to Cardiff for one night only and asks if I had any thoughts on where to go for some hair-letting-down. Now, bearing in mind this particular mucker has taken me to the Baftas, the Brits, numerous glitzy premieres and VIP'd me up at every bar, club and festival worth going to, coming up with the goods outside of Mayfair is going to be something of a hard ask.

Luckily, The Boyfriend comes up with the idea of going retro and returning to a hardy scene perennial in the shape of bar/club cross-pollinator Exit.

Me and HPC Friend many moonies ago used to stomp this ground more regularly than both of us care to remember, but then both of us got jobs and realised going into work sweating booze through your power-suits wasn't the best way to ascend the slippery professional pole.
