Medical Reporter Stephanie Stahl has details on the Clear Skin Solution; a growing trend that targets certain kinds of problems.Johari Smith tries hard to keep her skin healthy, and as a track coach she stays fit and takes care of herself but she still struggles with breakouts. "My skin is very unpredictable. Sometimes it's clear and sometimes I've got acne that I can't really control and it doesn't seem like anything that I put on it really works," said Johari. Now dermatologist have started to target ethnic skin types such as African Americans, Asians, Hispanics and those with a Mediterranean background, who have olive skin. "One size does not fit all, people are fundamentally the same but their skin is not," said Philadelphia dermatologist, Dr. Susan Taylor. She has created a line of skin care products, cleansers and moisturizers targeted for darker skin tones.

2 new therapies show promise for cancer patients

San Diego and PhoenixApril 15, 2008Clinical researchers at Scottsdale Healthcare and TGen today announced the results of two clinical trials that show promise for patients battling cancer.

In the first trial, a novel molecule, GDC-0449, shrinks tumors in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) while having limited side effects, including a loss of sense of taste, and a small amount of hair loss and weight loss, suggesting a viable new treatment option.

German couple on trial for murder of daughter who starved

Schwerin, Germany - A German couple went on trial Tuesday for the murder of their 5-year-old daughter, who died last year of starvation after months of neglect in her room in the family apartment. The death last November of Lea-Sophie in the northern city of Schwerin prompted Chancellor Angela Merkel to appeal to Germans to check up on how their neighbours were treating their children.
